Guinea, the largest bauxite exporter in the world, has made a law to authorize the government to export half of the mining companies’ output, in order to strengthen the controls on the mining industry, the economic backbone of the country. However, this law hasn’t been implemented until now.
The government will implement this measure directly or through an entity on behalf of the country, but the logistics method hasn’t been disclosed.
Since the military coup in early September last year, the Guinean government has tightened its controls on the mining industry.
