South Korea’s steelmaker POSCO has scheduled its maintenance plans for the hot-rolling mills in Pohang and Gwangyang, and the planned work will be from mid-April to early May, which will lead to a production loss for POSCO and tighten the supply for the hot-rolled steel market.
The hot-rolling mills in Pohang and Gwangyang have an annual production capacity of around 5.1 million tons, respectively. The maintenance will result in a loss in production of 200,000 tons at both mills separately, totaling 400,000 tons.
