According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China’s imports of copper ore and concentrates totaled 2.19 million tons in May, increasing by 12.7% compared to the same period a year ago. The imports of aluminum ore and concentrate during the period were nearly 12 million tons, an increase of 31% over the same period last year.
In the first five months of this year, China’s imports of copper ore and concentrates amounted to 10.4 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 6.1%; those of aluminum ore and concentrate were 55.8 million tons, up by 23.7% year on year.
