According to Rio Tinto’s report, the iron ore production at its Pilbara business totaled around 78.64 million tons in the second quarter, increasing by 10% compared to the previous quarter and also growing by 4% from the same period a year ago.

Meanwhile, the iron ore shipment at the Pilbara business was up by 12% quarter on quarter and by 5% year on year to 79.91 million tons.

In the first half of the year, the iron ore production at the Pilbara operation was 150.35 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1%. The shipment was 151.37 million tons, down by 2% year on year.

Rio Tinto maintained its output target at 320-335 million tons at its Pilbara iron ore operations for this year.
