Steel Dynamics, Inc., a US-based steel producer, continued to expand its flat-rolled mill in Sinton, Texas, which has an annual production capacity of 3 million short tons. The mill has been running at 65% capacity so far since October, and the capacity in a single day has reached 80%.
According to chief executive Mark Millett, the mill should be able to operate at 80% capacity in 2023. Being pushed by the demand from the construction industry, the company’s total shipment reached a record high at 3.15 million short tons.
