On October 17, 2022, the National Tariff Commission (NTC) of Pakistan initiated the first sunset review of anti-dumping (AD) on deformed concrete reinforcing steel bars (rebars) originating in China, for reviewing the AD duty of 19.15%, in response to the application submitted by Pakistani companies Amreli Steels, Agha Steel Industries, and Mughal Iron & Steel Industries on July 18, 2022.

The period of review is from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022.

The products involved are rebar in straight lengths, U-bends or coils, with diameters equal to or less than 40 mm, in various finishes including indentation, ribs, grooves, or other deformations, excluding plain round bars, under Pakistan Customs Tariff Numbers 7214.2010, 7214.2090, 7214.3010, 7214.3090, 7214.9910, 7214.9990, 7215.1010, 7215.1090, 7215.5010, 7215.5090, 7215.9010, 7215.9090, 7228.2090, 7228.3090, 7228.1000, 7228.4000, 7228.5000, and 7228.6000.

During the investigation, the current AD duties remain in effect. The final determination was expected to be made within 12 months from the date of this publication.
