According to statistics from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), global crude steel production totaled 147.3 million tons in October this year, keeping flat compared to the year-ago level.
Among them, Asia's crude steel production reached 107.3 million tons, up by 5.8% year on year, of which China's output accounted for 79.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 11%. The crude steel production from 27 EU countries was 11.3 million tons, sliding by 17.5% year on year.
Meanwhile, North American crude steel output was 9.2 million tons, down by 7.7% year on year; South American output was 3.7 million tons, falling by 3.2% year on year. Crude steel production in Africa was up by 2.3% year on year to 1.4 million tons, and the output in the Middle East grew by 6.7% year on year to 4 million tons.
In the first ten months of this year, global crude steel production fell by 3.9% year on year to 1.55 billion tons.
