According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 190,000 tons of hot-dip galvanized (HDG) sheets and strips in October this year, rising by 15% compared to the previous month but decreasing by 21% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 69,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 5.7% and a year-on-year drop of 13.7%. The second-major import source was Mexico, with a supply of around 28,000 tons.
During the period, the import value totaled roughly US$262 million, up by 9.6% month on month and down by 28.7% year on year.
