The Norwegian foreign ministry said last Thursday that a World Trade Organization (WTO) panel has made a determination that Norway won the case against US tariffs of 25% on steel and 10% on aluminum imports imposed in 2018, ruling that US Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum products went against the WTO rules.

Some WTO members, including the EU, Russia, China, India, and Turkey, have filed similar lawsuits with the trade body.

Those rulings were expected around the end of this year.
