U.S. Steel to start InduX™ electrical steel production in Arkansas
U.S. Steel announced on March 23 that it will begin production of its new electrical steel product, InduX™, at the new non-grain oriented (NGO) electrical steel line at its Big River Steel facility in Osceola, Arkansas this summer.
InduX™ electrical steel is a very wide, ultra-thin, and lightweight steel. It has the magnetic properties required by electric vehicles, generators, and transformers.
The expected capital expenditures of this line totaled around US$450 million. After the line is put into full operation, the annual production capacity of InduX™ steel will reach 200,000 tons.
