According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on March 25, the US’ production of crude steel was around 1.68 million net tons, decreasing by 0.4% week on week and down by 1.8% year on year.
During the period, the capacity utilization rate was 75.1%, a week-on-week decrease of 0.3% and a year-on-year drop of 3.6%.
As of March 25, 2023, the adjusted year-to-date output of the US’ crude steel was around 19.88 million net tons, dropping by 4.5% year on year. In terms of the capacity utilization rate, it was 74.1%, decreasing by 5.6% year on year.
