Anglo American, a global mining company based in the UK, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with H2 Green Steel, a Swedish hydrogen and steel producer, to collaborate in advancing low-carbon steel manufacturing.

According to the agreement, iron ore from Anglo American’s Kumba mine in South Africa and Minas-Rio mine in Brazil will be studied and trialed for use as raw materials for H2 Green Steel’s direct reduced iron (DRI) production process at the Boden plant in northern Sweden.
