According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, in April, the US’ cold-rolled coils (CRC) imports totaled about 69,000 tons, falling by 24.5% month on month and declining by 42.3% from the same month a year ago. Meanwhile, the CRC import value amounted to US$85.6 million, falling by 10.1% month on month and plunging by 51.4% year on year.
Among them, Canada was the main US’ import source, with about 38,000 tons. Other main import sources included Mexico (about 7,300 tons), Sweden (about 6,600 tons), and Belgium (about 5,100 tons).
