According to statistics released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel), Austria’s crude steel production totaled 660,000 tons in May this year, rising by 1.5% compared to the preceding month but slightly falling by 1% from the year-ago level.
In the first five months of this year, Austria produced a total of approximately 3.1 million tons of crude steel, a year-on-year decrease of 5.2%.
In May, the crude steel production from 27 EU countries was 11.6 million tons, sliding by 11.2% year on year. The output in the January-May period amounted to 56 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.4%.
