US' steel exports increase in May m-o-m

According to data from the US Department of Commerce, the US exported around 829,000 tons of steel in May this year, increasing by 18.9% month on month but decreasing by 15.3% year on year. Meanwhile, the steel export value was about US$1.5 billion, growing by 20.2% from the previous month.

Among them, Canada imported US steel with around 374,000 tons, increasing by 9.7% month on month and growing by 3.4% year on year. Besides, other export destinations included Mexico (about 304,000 tons), Brazil (about 4,600 tons), The Bahamas (about 2,600 tons), India (about 2,400 tons), China (about 2,380 tons), and Australia (2,150 tons).

At the same time, the US' main steel exports were hot-dip galvanized products (about 135,000 tons), cut-to-length plates (about 119,000 tons), hot-rolled thin plates (about 78,000 tons), and cold-rolled thin sheets (about 69,000 tons).
