On July 10, 2023, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated an expiry review of the anti-dumping (AD) duty on hot-rolled carbon steel plates originating in or exported from China, to determine if the expiry of the AD order is likely to lead to continuation or resumption of dumping or cause injury to the domestic industry.
The products involved are hot-rolled carbon steel plates and high-strength low-alloy plates, classified under HS code heading 7208.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine if there is potential for resumed or continued dumping no later than December 7, 2023. If the determination is positive, the CITT will determine whether the continued or resumed dumping is likely to injure the domestic industry no later than May 15, 2024.
