According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 126,000 tons of steel coils in June this year, rising by 6.6% compared to the previous month and falling by 21% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 72,500 tons, a month-on-month increase of 8% and a year-on-year drop of 13.8%. Other major import sources with volumes of more than 10,000 tons included South Korea (around 26,000 tons) and Mexico (around 13,000 tons).

During the period, the import value was approximately US$131 million, up by 4% month on month and down by 38% year on year.
