As per the data from Brazil Steel Institute (IABr), the country's crude steel production in August amounted to around 2.72 million tons, reflecting a 5.9% decrease compared to August 2022.
During the period, the production of rolled products saw a year-on-year decline of 12.1%, totaling 1.9 million tons. The output of semi-finished products rose by 44.0% year on year, reaching 832,000 tons.
In the first eight months of this year, Brazil's crude steel production amounted to 21.3 million tons, a year-on-year drop of 8.3%. The output of rolled products slid by nearly 10% to 15 million tons, and that of semi-finished products was up by 19.6% to 6.4 million tons, both year on year.
