According to Indian government data, from April to September, China was the main Indian finished steel import source. India imported 2.9 million tons of finished steel, increasing by 13.4% from the same period a year ago. Besides, South Korea was the second-biggest exporter to India, with 0.9 million tons.

However, India was still a net exporter of finished steel during April-September, with 3.2 million tons. The buyers were mainly from Italy, Spain, Belgium, Nepal and the UAE.
