According to data from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), in November 2023, the crude steel output from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was 7.4 million tons, increasing by 14.8% year on year and keeping flat month on month. Among them, Russia was the largest producer, increasing by 12.5% year on year to about 6.4 million tons. The following was Ukraine, which hiked by 74% year on year to 546,000 tons.
In the first eleven months of 2023, CIS’s crude steel production totaled 81.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%. During the period, the production from Russia was 70.2 million tons, growing by 6.4% year on year. Ukraine’s crude steel production was around 5.71 million tons, decreasing by 7.3% from the corresponding period of the previous year.
