In April, Russia’s crude steel output decreased by 7.5% year on year and by 3% month on month to about 6.1 million tons. Meanwhile, the production of finished steel products went down by 5.3% year on year and decreased by 2% month on month to 5.4 million tons. Besides, the steel pipe output increased by 5% from the same month a year ago and kept unchanged from the previous month to 1.1 million tons.

In the first four months, Russia’s crude steel output totaled about 24.4 million tons, decreasing by 3.2% from the corresponding period a year ago. Also, the finished steel products and steel pipe output decreased by 2.4% year on year to 21.3 million tons and by 3.2% year on year to 4.1 million tons, respectively.
