According to data from the Ukrainian steelmakers' association Ukrmetallurgprom, in June, Ukraine's pig iron output totaled nearly 629,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 3.8% and a year-on-year increase of 29.4%.
Meanwhile, the country's crude steel output amounted to 735,000 tons, decreasing by 0.4% from the previous month and soaring by 68.4% compared to the same month a year ago. The production of steel products was around 572,000 tons, dropping by 4% month on month and hiking by 45.8% from the same month of 2023.
Besides, in the first half year, Ukraine produced 3.47 million tons of pig iron, a year-on-year increase of 22.3%. The crude steel and steel products output grew by 37% and 32.2% from the corresponding period a year ago to 3.87 million tons and 3.14 million tons, respectively.
