According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 239,000 tons of hot-dip galvanized (HDG) sheets and strips in June, falling by 13% compared to the previous month and rising by 47% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 79,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 2.2% and a year-on-year increase of 2.3%. Other major import sources included Vietnam (around 39,000 tons), Brazil (around 22,000 tons), and Mexico (around 21,000 tons).
During the period, the import value totaled roughly US$281 million, down by 11.3% month on month and up by 34% year on year.
