According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending September 7, the production of US’ crude steel totaled 1.77 million short tons, increasing by 0.7% from the same period a week ago and rising by 4.8% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 79.8%, hiking by 0.6% week on week and by 5.4% year on year.
As of the week ending September 7, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ crude steel has amounted to around 61.1 million short tons, sliding by 1.8% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 76.7%, a year-on-year decrease of 0.2%.
