According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, China produced around 77 million tons of crude steel in September, down by 6% year on year.
China's macro-stimulus policy at the end of September not only effectively pushed up steel prices but also maintained the growth trend of steel production.
According to the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), in early October, the daily crude steel output of CISA members was 2.05 million tons, up by 1.7% compared to ten days earlier and down by 1.6% year on year.
In the same period, the average daily molten iron output was 1.86 million tons, up by 0.3% from late September and down by 3.6% year on year. The daily output of finished steel was about 1.9 million tons, down by 4.5% from late September and falling by 4.8% year on year.
