On October 31, the Henan Steel Group's Zhoukou base successfully produced the first wide thick plate using its new 5,600 mm rolling mill, marking a significant achievement in steel manufacturing. This event follows the successful completion of thermal load testing and the official starting of the trial production, positioning Henan Steel among a select few global steelmakers capable of producing plates over 5 meters wide.

The new rolling mill boasts a maximum rolling force of 12,000 tons and focuses on producing high-difficulty steel plates characterized by their width, thickness, and specialized features. With cutting-edge technical specifications, the products will meet the demands of high-end applications, including shipbuilding, offshore engineering, ultra-low temperature containers, large-diameter high-performance pipeline steel, renewable energy, and construction machinery.
