Dongkuk CM, a subsidiary of Dongkuk Steel Group, announced that it planned to file an anti-dumping (AD) complaint against China's imports of color-coated and galvanized steel sheets for construction. The company will also work with SeAH CM and KG Steel, as the imports of cheap Chinese steel have injured the domestic market.

The domestic steel industry has been struggling to combat the rising imports of color-coated and galvanized steel sheets from China. In 2024, imports rose by 34.2% to 1.02 million tons compared to 2022.

The surge in imports resulted in a big decline in selling prices, which decreased by 23.3%. Therefore, the profit of the Dongkuk CM for galvanized steel sheets for construction sharply dropped by 84%, and profit from color-coated steel sheets fell by 24%.
