According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending March 22, 2025, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.654 million net tons, slightly decreasing by 0.8% from the same period a week ago and dropping by 2.5% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 74.3%, falling by 0.6% week on week and by 2.1% year on year.

As of the week ending March 22, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 19.171 million short tons, sliding by 1.4% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 74.4%, a year-on-year drop of 1.4%.
