ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, has received the GreenPro Ecolabel certification for its coated steel products, Galvanized Iron (GI), Pre-Painted Galvanized Iron (PPGI), and Optigal®, manufactured at its Pune facility.

This globally recognized certification, introduced by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and endorsed by the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN), evaluates products based on lifecycle criteria and aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12 for responsible consumption and production.

The certification shows AM/NS India's commitment to sustainable steel manufacturing, with more than 21% of materials used being sustainable and 99% regionally sourced to reduce emissions. Besides, hazardous substances, including heavy metals, are restricted for a safer and cleaner production process.
