The 2024 (Jiachen) Public Sacrifice Ceremony for Fuxi, the Ancestor of Chinese Humanities, will be held in Tianshui City, Gansu Province on June 21. Good news came on the eve of the grand festival. The renovation and maintenance tasks of the lighting and ventilation systems of the four tunnels on Provincial Highway 325 Mai (Ji) Gan (Gu) Highway were completed as scheduled. The traffic conditions in the tunnels have been greatly improved and enhanced, and the safety and comfort of driving have been further guaranteed.

Provincial Highway 325 Mai Gan Highway was completed and opened to traffic in 2017. The brightness of the lights in the two long tunnels of Amber and Liufeng has obviously decayed, the illumination is increasingly insufficient, and vehicle traffic accidents occur from time to time. After the epidemic control was lifted in early 2023, the average daily traffic volume of Mai Gan Highway reached more than 7,300 vehicles. The traffic safety of vehicles and the smooth flow of roads have posed huge challenges to the work of line maintenance units.
In order to effectively solve the hidden dangers of traffic safety and improve the conditions of traffic travel, the units at all levels of Tianshui Highway Development Center have always regarded the inspection and maintenance of tunnel lighting and ventilation facilities as the focus of tunnel electromechanical maintenance work. At the beginning of the year, the lighting renovation in the tunnel was included in the 2024 highway tunnel maintenance "work list". Since May 27, a total of 120 vehicles have been dispatched, 210 man-hours have been invested, and shifts have been worked continuously to replace all 722 lighting fixtures in the Amber Tunnel and Liufeng Tunnel. At the same time, 6 sets of faulty ventilation equipment have been repaired, and 120 faulty lights in the Nanhechuan Tunnel and Huaniu Tunnel have been repaired, with an investment of about 1.2 million yuan in maintenance funds.
The maintenance and renovation of electromechanical equipment in the four tunnels not only solved the problems of short circuit and weak lighting in the power lines in the tunnels, but also made the tunnel lights brighter and softer, with uniform illumination, and the tunnel display outline clearer, alleviating the visual fatigue of drivers and passengers and beautifying the roads for public travel.
