According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending May 3, 2025, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.725 million net tons, increasing by 1.1% from the same period a week ago and by 1.4% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 76.8%, hiking by 0.8% week on week and by 0.2% year on year.

As of the week ending May 3, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 29.326 million short tons, sliding by 1.0% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 74.8%, a year-on-year drop of 1.1%.
