According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending May 31, 2025, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.757 million net tons, increasing by 0.7% from the same period a week ago and by 2.8% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 78.2%, rising by 0.6% week on week and by 1.3% year on year.
As of the week ending May 31, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 36.287 million short tons, slightly sliding by 0.5% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 75.3%, a year-on-year drop of 0.8%.
