According to the report, the United States (US) President Trump has signed an executive order postponing the scheduled tariff hike on Chinese products for an additional 90 days, extending the deadline to November 10, 2025.

This decision was expected by the markets following two days of discussions between the US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant and Chinese trade negotiator Li Chenggang in Stockholm in late July.

Some market participants indicated that if the deadline is not extended, tariffs between the two nations will revert to their peak rates in April 2025. The tariff rate imposed by the US on Chinese goods is 145%, while the tariff rate imposed by China on American goods is 125%.

Currently, the US imposes a 30% tariff on imports from China, while China imposes a 10% tariff on imports from the US.
