Shougang makes global debut of two high-performance non-oriented electrical steel products
The 2025 Shougang Non-Oriented Soft Magnetic Materials User Technology Seminar was held in Chongqing and announced two kinds of non-oriented electrical steel Products. The globally premiered product, ESW8517, sets a new industry record with its world's lowest core loss of 7.9W/kg (at 400Hz). The comprehensive magnetic properties of its 0.1mm thickness have reached a globally leading level.
This product not only represents a major breakthrough in performance but also achieves innovative progress in balancing the longstanding challenge of strength versus magnetic properties.
With a yield strength as high as 490MPa, it increases the motor safety factor by 11% and improves motor efficiency by 0.72% under CLTC conditions. The advent of ESW8517 precisely aligns with the future design trends of high-speed motors, injecting powerful momentum into the upgrade of the high-efficiency motor and new energy vehicle industries.
Besides, the globally premiered product, 20RSW175, is an ultra-high magnetic induction non-oriented soft magnetic material specifically designed for humanoid robots. This product achieves a magnetic induction intensity of 1.75T. Compared to conventional products, it increases torque by 1.6% and reduces core loss by 27%. It effectively meets the development needs of high torque density and high power density for frameless torque motors used in humanoid robots.
