According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending August 30, 2025, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.769 million net tons, slightly decreasing by 0.6% from the same period a week ago and rising by 2.5% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 78.1%, down by 0.5 percentage points week on week and up by 0.4 percentage points year on year.
As of the week ending August 30, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 59.469 million net tons, slightly rising by 1.4% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 76.7%, up by 0.3 percentage points year on year.
