India's JSW Steel produced 2.366 million tons of crude steel in February, falling by 2% compared to the same month a year ago. This decline was mainly due to the ongoing expansion of Blast Furnace No. 3 at the Vijayanagar plant, which has been undergoing capacity upgrades since September 2025.

In India, production fell 1% to 2.306 million tons. However, active facilities showed 97% capacity utilization, resulting in an 8% underlying growth when excluding the idled furnace.

Meanwhile, production at JSW Steel’s Ohio operations in the US dropped by 20% to 60,000 tons due to cold weather and facility restarts. JSW Steel expects to bring the upgraded Indian furnace back into service by the end of the quarter.
