Baosteel, China’s leading steelmaker, announced price increases across most of its sheet and plate products for June 2026.
The company set a base price hike of CNY 100 per ton for hot-rolled, heavy plates, pickled, common cold-rolled, hot-dip galvanized, electrogalvanized, and various zinc-aluminum-magnesium products. Galvalume, color-coated, and non-oriented silicon steel also rose by CNY 100 per ton.
Grain-oriented silicon steel had the largest adjustment with a CNY 200 per ton rise, with higher grades facing an additional CNY 100 increase.
Furthermore, Baosteel raised rates by CNY 100 per ton for welded pipes, wire rods, bar products, and seamless mechanical structural pipes. However, prices for seamless petroleum and high-pressure boiler pipes remain unchanged.
These adjustments took effect immediately upon the announcement.
