Following Taiwan's June 2 affirmative preliminary ruling on electrical steel dumping, industry focus directed toward China Steel Corporation (CSC)’s pending application against cold-rolled steel imports from China and South Korea.

Filed around April, an official decision regarding the initiation of this investigation could emerge by late June.

Single-rolling mills and hardware processors express concern that restricting Chinese and South Korean cold-rolled steel will inflate production costs and damage export capabilities. CSC promised expanded quota allocations to support customers, though manufacturers question whether local prices will match cheap foreign alternatives.

To mitigate trade risks, local processors began actively sourcing alternative steel supplies from Southeast Asian producers to secure competitive volume and quality.
