According to statistics from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), global crude steel production totaled 155.7 million tons in June 2026, rising by 1.7% compared to the same month a year ago.

Among them, Asia and Oceania’s crude steel production reached 115.2 million tons, up by 1.5% year on year, of which China's estimated output accounted for 83.7 million tons, rising by 0.4% year on year. The crude steel production from 27 EU countries was 10.8 million tons, hiking by 4.6% year on year. The CIS countries and Ukraine produced 6.8 million tons, down by 2.2% year on year.

During the period, North American crude steel output was 9.5 million tons, going up by 5.0% year on year; South American output was 3.5 million tons, down by 0.3% year on year. Crude steel production in Africa went up by 20% year on year to 2.2 million tons, and the output in the Middle East fell by 13.4% year on year to 4.0 million tons.

In the first half of this year, global crude steel output amounted to roughly 931.5 million tons, a year-on-year reduction of 0.7%.
