On April 13, at the north bank construction site of the Liangjiang (Two Rivers) Lighting Project, part of the Xiangyang Ancient City Protection and Renewal Project (Section 1) in Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, construction personnel from Hubei Yunchuan Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. (Yunchuan Optoelectronics), a subsidiary of Wanzhou Electric Co., Ltd. (Wanzhou Electric), were methodically installing lighting fixtures and laying cables. Guo Youpan, the project manager, carefully inspected whether the fixtures were securely fastened while explaining to a reporter: "The ancient city protection and renewal project we are currently advancing with full effort uses the company's newly developed, highly efficient, energy-saving, intelligent LED landscape lighting fixtures and high-fidelity, full-color-gamut RGBL floodlights."

In Guo Youpan's view, these lighting fixtures, which are about to illuminate Xiangyang's ancient city, are far from being standardized, mass-produced products. Instead, they are "city business cards" custom-designed for his hometown. "To ensure that the lighting matches the character of the ancient city, we specially customized everything-from the height of the light poles and the curvature of the lamp heads to the overall shape-based on Xiangyang's urban fabric," Guo told the reporter. He noted that his design team meticulously refined the drawings, ensuring that the streetlights retain their practical lighting function while integrating a sense of ancient, profound history into modern design. Their goal is for every beam of light to not only illuminate the way home for people returning at night but also to highlight the unique charm of the ancient city.
Behind these lights, which will soon shine on streets and alleys, lies more than 20 years of technological expertise rooted in Xiangyang by Yunchuan Optoelectronics. As a local high-tech enterprise and subsidiary of Wanzhou Electric, Yunchuan Optoelectronics has accumulated extensive experience in the research, development, and manufacturing of infrared LED optoelectronic components. The new-generation LED products now helping to revitalize the ancient city represent a further elevation of technological innovation. "We have innovatively adopted a multi-chip flip-chip light source packaging process inside the fixtures, combined with professional optical lenses featuring ultra-high light transmittance and aviation-grade heat dissipation structures. This ensures stable light output from the source," explained Qu Zhongqiang, Deputy General Manager of Yunchuan Optoelectronics. Even more sophisticated is the built-in intelligent control module, which gives the streetlights a keen "sensory ability"-they automatically turn on as dusk falls, brighten to provide guidance when crowds are present, and quietly turn off when the streets return to tranquility, truly enabling "on-demand lighting."
It is worth noting that this "intelligence" is also reflected in the system's strong adaptability. Relying on the company's independently developed software and hardware platform and edge computing modules, coupled with convenient APP-based remote control, each streetlight is connected to the city's "neural network." They can not only sense day-night cycles and changes in traffic flow but also flexibly adjust their strategies based on air quality and weather conditions. Qu Zhongqiang explained that management personnel only need to tap on their mobile phone screens to easily control the city's lighting, greatly improving operational efficiency.
