According to statistics from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), global crude steel production totaled 149.2 million tons in July 2026, falling by 0.3% compared to the same month a year ago.

Among them, Asia and Oceania’s crude steel production reached 109.4 million tons, down by 1.2% year on year, of which China's estimated output accounted for 76.9 million tons, sliding by 3.6% year on year. The crude steel production from 27 EU countries was 10.5 million tons, hiking by 3.8% year on year. The CIS countries and Ukraine produced 6.7 million tons, up by 2.2% year on year.

During the period, North American crude steel output was 9.6 million tons, going up by 4.9% year on year; South American output was 3.6 million tons, up by 2.8% year on year. Crude steel production in Africa went up by 6.1% year on year to 2.0 million tons, and the output in the Middle East fell by 13.4% year on year to 3.8 million tons.

In the first seven months of this year, global crude steel output amounted to 1.0812 billion tons, a year-on-year reduction of 0.6%.
