India's JSW Steel contracted international technology group ANDRITZ to deliver a continuous galvanizing line for its plant in Toranagallu, Karnataka, aimed at producing Advanced High-Strength Steel (AHSS) for automotive applications.

The project targets a 2028 start-up. The facility will have an annual capacity of around 500,000 tons, handling steel strips up to 1,900 mm wide and 2.60 mm thick with tensile strengths reaching 1,480 MPa at speeds up to 180 meters per minute.

ANDRITZ's delivery scope encompasses engineering, manufacturing, and supplying the complete line machinery, including cleaning sections, furnaces, coating equipment, tension leveling lines, and so forth.
