ArcelorMittal Jinxi New Materials (Changzhou) Co., Ltd., a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and China Oriental Group, has officially launched its electrical steel brand, AMORNEX, in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. 

The project involves a total investment of around CNY 5 billion, making it one of the largest single foreign investment projects in Changzhou. It includes a raw material production base in Tangshan, Hebei Province, and a processing and operations facility in Changzhou.

Once completed, the Changzhou plant will have an annual capacity of 1.8 million tons of high-quality electrical steel. 

The first phase includes a 500,000-ton-per-year production line for high-performance non-oriented electrical steel, with commercial operation expected in June 2027.
