American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) statistics indicated US domestic raw steel production totaled 1.785 million net tons for the week ending September 19, 2026, registering a capability utilization rate of 77.9%.

Output decreased by 6.1% compared to the preceding week ending September 12, 2026, which recorded 1.9 million net tons at an 82.3% capability utilization rate. Conversely, production rose by 0.6% relative to 1.775 million net tons and a 78.4% capability utilization rate during the corresponding week of 2025.

Adjusted year-to-date production through September 19, 2026, reached 66.537 million net tons with a capability utilization rate of 79.0%, representing a 5.5% increase from 63.093 million net tons and a 77.2% capability utilization rate over the same period last year.
