According to statistics, China’s coking coal imports amounted to around 12.3 million tons in the first quarter of this year, up by 8.9% compared to the same period a year ago.
Among them, the imports from Russia accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 3.3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 27.2%. The US ranked second with roughly 2.6 million tons, followed by Mongolia’s 2.1 million tons, sliding by 65% year on year due to strict epidemic control measures.
Besides, the imports from Australia and Canada totaled approximately 2 million tons and 1.6 million tons during the period, respectively.
