According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), China’s iron ore and concentrate imports totaled around 91.2 million tons in July this year, hiking by 2.6% compared to the previous month and by 3.1% from the same month a year ago.

During the period, the import value totaled roughly US$11.5 billion, a month-on-month drop of 4% and a year-on-year decrease of 35.6%.

In the first seven months of this year, China imported approximately 626.8 million tons of iron ore, sliding by 3.4% year on year. The import value was US$80.9 billion, down by 30.2% year on year.
