According to the delivery license data released by the US Department of Commerce, US steel imports in December may drop to 1.98 million tons, a decrease of 24% compared with the steel imports in December 2021.
During the period, the license application for flat products is 726,900 tons, which decreased by 38% compared with imports in December 2021. The license application for hot-rolled coils and hot-dip galvanized coils decreased by 51% and 44%, respectively.
Besides, semi-finished steel licenses decreased by 48% to 294,000 tons, and slab licenses decreased by 79% to around 79,000 tons, both year on year.
