According to Mexico's steel industry association Canacero, in March, the apparent consumption of galvanized sheets in Mexico rose by 4.4% year on year to 370,000 tons. Meanwhile, the production fell by 8.6% year on year to 276,000 tons.
In March, the galvanized sheet was the third most consumed product in Mexico. Steel bars and hot-rolled coils ranked first and second, respectively.
In March, Mexico's international trade volumes of hot-dipped galvanized products totaled 185,000 tons. Meanwhile, the exports and imports were 45,000 tons and 140,000 tons, decreasing by 27.4% and 5.4% year on year, respectively.
