According to statistics from the Italian steelmakers' association Federacciai, in the first five months of 2023, Italy imported steel products from non-EU countries with about 4.4 million tons, falling by 16.8% year on year. Meanwhile, the exports were 1.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%.
Among them, compared to the first five months last year, the imports of long products and flat steel products increased by 1.6% and decreased by 23.3%, respectively. Besides, the long products and flat steel products exports increased by 18.5% and kept flat, respectively.
