According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China's crude steel output totaled 90.8 million tons in July, growing by 11.5% from the same month a year ago. The output of pig iron was 77.6 million tons, up by 10.2% year on year. Steel production was 116.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.5%.
In the first seven months of this year, China's crude steel and pig iron production amounted to approximately 626.5 million tons and 528.9 million tons, up by 2.5% and 3.5% year on year, respectively. Steel output was up by 5.4% year on year to 789 million tons.
